We're setting up a helipad at a residential site, would like to find some decent signs to put around the landing area and the hangar to make people aware of the dangers.

Anyone know of a company which has these all designed-up and ready to go? I'd rather not design my own, I'm rubbish at stuff like that....

Decide what text and graphics you want.....your local sign shop will be well equipped to make whatever signs you want. They can digitize the sign and let the computer driven machine do it's magic.

Best sign to make people aware of the dangers:

Aircrew: Beware of Spotters!:8

Bladewashout,

I had a bunch of signs made up to put on the fence around my back paddock, when the local developer moved in :sad:

FWIW, I chose to avoid the dreaded "Danger" word, to avoid the possibility of litigation: just a picture of a helicopter, a pedestrian inside a circle with a 'ban' line, and the words: "Caution: Helicopter Operating Area".

All the adjacent blocks have been sold, all new tenants are aware of the signs and the location, and suitable free flights have resulted in no problems :ok:

Capt Hollywood,

Top stuff - it's not often that a post on PPRuNe actually (intentionally) makes me cry with laughter :ok:

PS. By the way, hope you get your signs sorted Bladewashout ;)

We are planning to try and undertake helicopter flights to a local winery with pasengers for lunch and wine tasting. Has any one got any photos or information of what should be on the signs (with out creating an eye saw for the winery)
The landing area is sloped so a sign showing the slope would be great,
the local sign writer has some pathetic looking helicopters

thanks in advance

In the interest of passenger safety, in this litigious age, and trying to be as PC as possible, shouldn't all helicopters have the following decal on near the doors:

Caution - may contain Nuts :}:}:}:}
