hi all,
I'm thinking to change from contract to freelance. But I have no idea how to setup my rate. I mean: daily rate or hours rate? Or day rate + hours??
I have 3000 hrs and JAA CL601 type rating.

Going rate in the U.S. is $800/day. Convert to Euros/GBP's if you want or charge 800E if you have the resume for it.
Good luck. TC
Considering the number of Layoffs and your low experience, is this a good time to try to go freelance?
Is the CL601 rating the same at the CRJ700?

@ Mutt,
the owner will sell the flying toy to buy a sailing toy. Actually it is his decision not mine.
I think a fair way to calculate freelance is as follows:
Take the yearly salary+cost of licensing(incl simulator)+medical+pension.
Divide the total sum in the amount of working days per year----18 days per monthX12 months minus vacation. Add 20 % and that's your minimum rate.
Add per Diems and there you go.
Yust my two cents worth...Good luck
Mutt: Not the same as crj700
