Any assistance with the following problem will be gratefully received.

On some websites, after clicking on a link, URL, photo to enlarge etc., the popup window comes up blank.

System: P3 600, 384mb RAM, 16 & 40 HDDs, Windows XP Pro, IE6, NAV2002

This problem became evident after the installation of XP Pro from W98. Upgrading from IE5.5 to IE6 had no effect on the problem (obviously).

Cheers.

Go to Microsoft Support web site and search the knowledge base. There are few articles about this.

...and if Pop Up windows get you down, try The Proxomitron. It banishes popups and is highly configurable. Website at Proxomitron

Best!. .HA

TR4A - Thanks. I have had a look there but can't find anything (as yet) to help me out. To be more specific, when I click on the URL you posted (or the link from HandyAndy) the window which pops up is blank except for the toolbar. The address window is blank also. If I copy and paste the URL into the address box it loads OK.

HandyAndy - Popups popup just fine. Unfortunately that is not the problem. I use a different killer on my own computer but will check out your recommendation. Thanks.

Cheers.

I had a similar problem recently on a Win 98 PIII.

I reinstalled IE6 (I didnt uninstall first) and it is still working fine)

Go to Start/Run, and type:

REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL

Then open IE, Tools menu, Options, Program Tab, and click the "Reset Web . .Settings" button.

TR4A,

All is now normal. Profuse thanks from my wife (and myself of course). She says that you are a genius!

Cheers.
