Try resetting the Character Encoding.. .It is under the View menu in IE.

Still not getting very far with this. Would also like to be able to send e-mails using foreign characters eg in Spanish etc.

Assuming you have an English keyboard, probably the easiest way to type accented characters is to use Microsoft Word as your editor. To type é for example, you would press Ctrl ' and then e. To get the upside down ? you probably need to use the Insert Symbol menu.. .Once you've edited the email, just select all (Ctrl A) and copy it to the clipboard, then paste it into your web browser.. .Note that some mailers may be limited to 7-bit ASCII in which case you won't be able to send accented or extended characters.. . . . [ 29 March 2002, 01:36: Message edited by: BayAreaLondoner ]

Would also like to be able to send e-mails using foreign characters eg in Spanish etc.. .. .Start, Programs, Accessories, (System Tools)*, Character Map then click the character, Select, Copy, Close. The character is now on the clipboard ready to paste wherever. . .. .* location of the CM varies by Windows version.. .. .But the alt+nnnn method is quickest of all if you can remember the codes.

Depending upon the IE version, you can also enable install on demand, thru tools, then under the advanced tab.. .. .If you then go to a site that needs something IE doesn't have, such as a character set, you will then be prompted to do so.
