While in Slovakia last Friday, near the Polish border, heard a distinct sonic boom, followed by high altitude aircraft noise, any ideas?

Was it a bird?........Was it a plane?.................No! It was Superman.

Jeez who cares?

It was probably an aircraft breaking the sound barrier whilst flying very fast, at high speed, quickly.

Do I win a prize?

It was a Slovakian Mikoyan MiG-29UBS, serial number 1303 from Sliač.

Greenflash, 1304 was tits last Friday. It was snagged for having a no2 hydraulic actuating splug valve capacitor failure. Should be ready for airtests on Tuesday. It was deffo 1303 that exnomad heard.

Sorry if my enquiry sounded facetious, but I was wondering, now that Putin has pots of money, he is reviving the run down Russian air force , and demostating the fact by sending sonic booms into Nato territory to demonstrate the fact. The cold war was only won because Reagen could outspend Gorbachov. The reverse is now probably true.
