Sad news again, every loss is tragic, yet this must hit the Paras especially hard; this weeks total is the worst loss for them since the Falklands... :(

may the brave souls be at peace now.

thoughts and love to those who are left behind. i know this will probably never get to the families but if there is ever anything i can do to offer support to you through the darkness. sadly, i have walked this road before and i'm ready to help catch you should you fall....

rest in peace and have a cold one in the big bar in the sky...

So very very sad, my thoughts are with the Battalion, the families and friends.

Theotherhalf, you're statement is spot on and it is up to our generation to ensure they are not forgotten.

God Bless

Came home this evening to hear that Mrs SW had been in tears this morning, having heard the news that LCpl Bateman was indeed one of her friends sons.

RIP and our thoughts with everyone touched by such tragedy.

This morning, my heart was both saddened and proud, when I saw the picture in the Mail of hundreds of people, including vets and soldiers, lining the main road in Wooton Bassett as these five heroes slowly made way on their last parade and homecoming

Escorted by police, heads bowed, soldiers and the vets saluting was witness that at last people do show they care.

RIP guys, you will never be forgotten.

RIP Guys. My deepest sympathy goes to their families, friends and Regiment.

It struck me how young they were, but still definitely Men of the highest calibre. Let's hope that we won't suffer that level of casualties again.
