I wonder how well the BBC will cover this flypast this time.
In the past the director has all but forgotten the flypast and kept the cameras on the Queen or on the crowd.

Nice photos by the way

Very nice photos sunshine band, thanks.

Razor61, you say
I wonder how well the BBC will cover this flypast this time.
Well you may remember that, this time last year, Nicholas Witchell made an utter pigs ear of commentating on the flypast.

This year there was some doubt about whether they would cover it live at all - the Trooping of the Colour coverage finishes an hour beforehand, and at 1300 BBC1 is on footie and tennis

However, I’m glad to say that they’re now going to do it live on BBC News (that’s the channel that used to be called News 24). The only slight problem is that there will be no commentary coverage from Canada Gate (outside Buckingham Palace). It’ll all be done from the studio. (Not by Nicholas W!) A lot better than nothing, though. I hope.

Nice photos! You could get them blown up, signed by each of the crews and then auctioned off for charity (like the Red Arrows ones). Good/ bad idea??

Sean

Am I right in thinking you won't be at Fairford this year? If so, I vote that your dulcet tones get the Canada Gate gig!:ok: At least you know what you are looking at unlike the usual BBC muppets.

Very kind of you GF!

You're right, I am no longer the show commentator at RIAT - I quit at the end of last year's show. (Mutual arrangement, no hard feelings on either side, unless you know something I don't!)

As far as Saturday's gig is concerned, I might be there (or rather, in the studio) if all goes to plan!

Thanks for your feedback everyone- nice to be appreciated! Nice idea SMT- how do I go about that- any help offered from the Typhoon Fraternity would be very kind...

I've managed to get some time to work on another few from the practice:

Hopefully these are of interest- sorry about the compression quality of the photo hosting website!

However whichway you look at the VC10, it is still a cracking aircraft. Great to see.

Fantastic pictures, just goes to show that we do have more than three aircraft 'S' at any one time, what ever the wags might have us belive. If I was in London and that little lot flew over my head I would be hugely proud to be :

A) British.
B) in the RAF.

:ok:
