Costa Rican newspaper "La Nacion" is reporting that a TACA A320 carrying 124 passengers plus crew overran the runway in Tegucigalpa this morning. The aircraft was travelling LAX-SAL-TGU-SPS.
One of the dead is the president of Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE), Harry Brautigam.
According to firefighters, the pilot of the A320 also has died, although this is not confirmed offically. Rescue crews were attempting to rescue the co-pilot from the cockpit.
