East African C208 Flying

The small ad in last week's Australian about flying Caravans around in "East Africa" was a little out of the ordinary. Did anyone write down the number, or does anyone know anything about it!?

stop it!..I have mates that went to Bots with a couple of hundred hours and came back with a thousand.exactly! my brother started his career in WEST Africa flying Cessna Caravans, he had only 250 hours TT, right off the flying shool. After 4 years he had thousands of hours on C208 and ATR 42. He then went to a major airline in the middle east flying the A320.

This is my plan too but i would love to fly in East Africa! Tanzania is where i'd like to start my career!

The job is flying pax to various game parks throughout Tanzania. I know they're asking 1000TT and I'm pretty sure they're not able to budge all that much due to their insurance policies on the aircraft.

I think it was 3 or 4k USD a month with accom and transportation included.

I think you will find the fella that you speak to on the Sydney phone number provided will more than likely not give you very much information on the company he is hiring for. As he/she will not get the finders fee for a pilot hired if you manage to negotiate directly with the company.
