Since Microsoft has seen fit to discontinue Hotmail access via Outlook Express, has anyone had success to find a replacement program that allows offline access to emails, using Windows 2000 OS?

Cheers et al.

Alas not - being a MS product, it's in their interest to prevent it from being used on obsolete products....

Have you tried Gmail? Not sure about Win2K but I have no problem with OE / XP, and, on this machine Windows Mail / Vista.

(ooh, re-reading your post perhaps you meant you need to retain Hotmail. How about Thunderbird?)

Thunderbird works with Hotmail and its better than Outlook Express. Check here on Lifehacker. (http://lifehacker.com/software/hotmail/check-hotmail-using-thunderbird-34583.php)

If you have full Outlook Client (not sure if you need v2003 or greater), then download the Outlook Connector. This allows you to connect and download your Hotmail mail.

Outlook Connector won't work with my old but perfectly functional Outlook 2000. Can anybody recommend anything else that will?
