Evening,

This is my first post, I was on the 22:50 CPH to BKK flight yesterday(Saturday 24th May). The SAS A340 aborted take-off. I'm guessing very close to V1.

The presentation from the pilot described that debris had been deposited on the runway - apparently coming from engine 1, so the plane is not allowed to be moved. He described "unusual readings" on engine 1 during the take off roll. This was followed by a "short fire" indication that cleared when the engines went to idle. When the plane came to rest I could smell burning rubber.

All in all, it's been a rather dramatic evening for me. Debris falling off aircraft engines sounds rather serious.

Standard action if he got a fire warning before V1 , for unusual readings depending on the severity of the problem rest assured he would take her in the air if there wasn't a fire warning , the smell would have been due to blown up tyres which is normal during high speed rejects especially close to v1

hope the rest of the events were smooth flowing for you

I'm sure all ok but just a close to V! episode

I'll bet there was more than smelling of rubber in the cockpit....
