Anybody know what the feul flow and range specifications of the Olympus 301 engines as on the Avro Vulcan Mk.2 Bomber may be?

Still top secret I'm afraid, but both are a lot more than a Tornado's. :=

Well basically I'm just looking for the fuel flow specs eg how much feul is used for every100knts at 'x' number of feet, for the Olympus 301, but if that is stll top secret then thats ok.

To keep it very simple at 40,000' and 480kts the aircraft burnt about 10,000lbs of fuel per hour.

Total fuel was about 72000lbs. You could add bombbay tanks with about 6000lbs for the A and E tanks (saddle tanks to fit over a Blue Steel) can't remember the exact quantity or 8000lbs each in one of two drum tanks.

It used about 2000lbs start and taxy and 2500lbs to get airborne. Another 8000lbs to get to cruising altitude.

At low level, about 325kts it was about 17500lbs per hour.

Somewhere I may still have some photocopied pages from the ODM (Operating Data Manual).

The basic (test-stand) SFC (specific fuel consumption) of the Olympus 301 was .805 kg fuel/kg thrust/hr.

Then you have to figure out what thrust each engine puts out for a given speed at a given altitude, multiply by 4.... etc.
