Have seen a grainy photo of RAF Buccaneers in Tengah circa 1971. Wonder anyone have information on the squadron deployed?

It'll almost certainly be from HMS Eagle which was deployed to the Far East at that time.

If it was HMS Eagle then it would have been 800 Sq - but I doubt if it was 1971. We came back from the Far East in 1969 ( HMS Hermes/801 NAS) and I don't think anybody went back out as a replacement - could be wrong

HMS Eagle deployed to the far east for a final tour in 71-72 before being decommissioned according information on this site; http://www.qam.com.au/aircraft/sea-vixen/XJ490.htm

I remember seeing a Sea Vixen on Sentosa Island in Singapore during the 80's and did some research recently to find out how it had got there.

I was on Eagle for the final cruise in 1971: plenty of Buccaneer and Vixen photos here (http://www.eacott.com.au/gallery/v/navy_photos/) :ok:

It was a 12 Squadron deployment, I was on the Squadron at the time normally based at RAF Honnington. These aircraft were not carrier based as suspected in a previous post.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

Cheers
