Does ALPA-S have any balls?

IF ALPA-S is committed to upholding the principles of a pilots' union, how can the employment of a known scab be condoned by the Singapore Airline Pilots' Union?

This is a[nother] try on, to whittle down the strength - little by little - of the Singapore employed pilots.

If you guys don't nip it in the bud, it will bloom BECAUSE of YOU. and not IN SPITE of YOU.

One of the "early returns" [an f/o at the time] in BNE, during the 1989 dispute, is currently on course with SIA for the triple 7. He "went back" early for a quick command - but told ALL that it was to save Ansett! However, now that Ansett is floundering, he's one of the first to bail out!

Does ALPA-S - an affiliate of USALPA, and the AFAP - have any voice in the selection of applicants? Some of the older guys in SQ were willing to go to gaol, during their stoush several years ago, so there must be some principled men somewhere in the organisation.

Forgive me, what is AFAP?... and so he bailed out of Ansett, and returns to SQ AGAIN? and he's branded a scab; and what do you expect ALPA-S to do...and what's your point???

Kaptin M's point is that most pilot unions are affiliated with IFLAPA and are supposed to support each other in defending our profession against those who would sell themselves to devalue our profession in times of industrial dispute. In this case it would seem that the ex Ansett driver just wants a 777 rating - he obviously can't be doing it for the money, as even an Ansett 737 captain would be doing at least as good financially .

Kaptin M and Check-in,
Looks like this "ansett scab" that you wrote of will be at SQ to get the 777 rating than bolt off to somehwere like KAL (for obviou$ rea$on$).... real soon !
But as far as I know, SQ do not rehire people who left (resignation or fired).
But then again, what can ALPA-S do ?
