Hey Folks,

I was wondering if any of you Canadian folks could provide some intel for me on Air Canada Jazz. Namely, if they're still hiring, what it's like to work there, QOL, interview/hiring process, if they're union, etc.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
AV

know of a few people who got hired last year on the Dash 8s, most had some time on a 1900/Saab 340 etc. People were also taken on for the RJs, but i believe the more senior people get preference on those.

I'll check avcanada out. If an applicant already has jet time, would they still only hire into the Dash? Do any of you work there right now?

Thanks to all who replied. :)

Like he said...Probably all of your questions answered on AVCanada.

Dash or Jet assigned upon seniority number draw during ground school AND depending on how many pilots required per categorie : ( some ground schools are dash 8 only, you don't know till you get there ).

Jazz just anounced an immediate ban on all hiring and training
in responce to Air Canada's anouncement of capacity reductions
this Fall.

It appears that the music has stopped, and the doors at Jazz are
closed now until further notice.

there was a blurb on the radio about jazz reducing flying in the east, the radio mentioned ottawa, montreal and a big reduction for hamilton. not sure about the accuracy.

The Hamilton and Comox bases are being closed and staff either
relocating or accepting termination pay.

Reductions on several routes in addition to some being completely
stopped.

Jazz continues to loose pilots to Westjet and overseas so no pilot
layoffs as of yet.
