Singapore Airlines had announced that it will take delivery of 10 more high performance Boeing 777-200ER aircraft to replace its fleet of Airbus 310-300E aircraft.Singapore Airlines currently operates 15 of these aircraft.Singapore Airlines is a major airline which have a youngest fleet of aircraft.Each aircraft has an average age of 5 years.In 1972 when Singapore Airlines was established,its fleet of aircraft was Boeing 707-320 and Boeing 737-100 aircraft and it was based at the then Paya Lebar Airport.In 1973,Singapore Airlines took delivery of its first Boeing 747-200 jumbo jets.In 1977,one of its Boeing 707-320 aircraft was converted to freight use.In 1981 when the present Changi Airport started its flight operations,all Singapore Airlines aircraft moved to the airport.In 1989,Singapore Airlines took delivery of its first Boeing 747-400 "Megatop 747" aircraft and in 1996 and 1997,Singapore Airlines took delivery of its first Airbus 340-300E and Boeing 777-200 aircraft respectively.In 1998,Singapore Airlines took delivery of its first long sized Boeing 777-300.As the years to come,Singapore Airlines would be increasing its fleet of aircraft to meet the needs of increasing air traffic and passengers.

Here's a question for you.. in what year did SQ get rid of their B727 and DC-10 fleet?
