5 years ago when I first started flying I wrote to Singapore Airlines enquiring about direct entry cadet schemes and so on.

They sent me some information saying that they do but you need an ATPL licence 1500 hrs and join the company as an Second officer.

Are they still taking direct enty Expat SO's for the company??

If so whats the story and process for a direct entry position.

Cheers Bengwa.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that SQ are no longer taking on direct entry expat S/O-F/o's (Haven't done now for 5 years).

All the best with what ever you do :)

SQ prefers people without flying experience, be a graduate and non Singaporean (prefers Malaysian Chinese)are most welcomed to join the cadet pilot sponsorship scheme.Recent advertisement clearly stated they want people
without flying experience.

P.S.All left hand seater started out with about 250hrs.

So, what you meant is that SIA only need a person totally have no flying experience at all rather than people having some flying hours! What is the point??? It's some kind of COMPANY rule or something???

By recruiting someone without flying experience they can then "mould" them into their preferences etc...

Some experienced ones tend to have minds of their own...

Maybe?
