I'm running MAC OS Leapard and am tyrying to install Win XP using bootcamp via a USB external CD onto a MAC Book Air. Everything goes well until I select "Start Installation" (after partitioning a 32gb windows partition). The computer reboots. The white screen comes on, then after about 10 seconds a grey apple icons appears in the center of the screen alternating with a grey folder icon with a question mark in it and a no entry sign. This alternating display continues indeffinitely until a hold the power button down to shut it down. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?? I'm not bothered about keeping MAC OS, is there a way to solely install XP?

Thanks in advance.

Mr L.

Hi,

You have to use WinXP Installation CD with USB installation support:

See Here (http://tubeshards.wordpress.com/2006/12/05/install-windows-to-a-macintosh-usb-drive/)

Hope this helps

Also make sure you format the windows partition NTFS.
