I first posted this problem 6months ago and got a zero response !
Just in case someone out there has experienced the same and found a fix, here goes again.
Quote from November 2007 post..........
Asus A6 Notebook, connected to CPW/talktalk via Netgear DG834GT Modem/Router, both wireless & ethernet cable.
Been with talktalk for 18 months now, and despite all the bad press, never had a problem. Downloads @ 5.5Megs thro' a BT exchange. On initial boot I used to switch on the Asus & the Modem at the same time and connection was always made, first time.
Then 3 weeks ago the exchange went LLU with talktalk's own equipment. Initially, I couldn't log-on, but after re-entering modem password all appeared well. However at next boot, no connection. Switch OFF modem, then back ON again and connection ok. Since then I have tried every modem/computer combination for switching on, but nothing works except a second Netgear boot.
I have tried prodding the "restore factory settings" button to start again, but it seems to remember all my previous setup.
Where am I going wrong?
moley.
