A charter flight blew 2 tires during landing in Lamezia Terme (Calabria, South Italy).
There were about 100 pax on board, nobody hurted.
Airport closed till they can move the aircraft.
No other info.

Happened around 16.40 local.
Flight coming from BCN (LEBL)
Airline: Mistral Air.

My captain once blew 16 mainwheel tyres and he didn't even get the story into the local papers!
It was a lot less painless than you would imagine.

Must have been pre-Internets days.
If an aircraft takes a bobble these days it's reported somewhere on the web, if not on the newspapers. That has it's own plus and minuses. It keeps the public informed, but there is a tendency to over-sensationalize incidents to the point that the public may feel over-anxious about getting on an aircraft. The proverbial two-edge sword.
