Just curious how many of you pro-pilots are bearded like myself, men and women. If you've just got a moustache that counts (some of us just look like peados with just a mo).

I'm a pilot, and I have a (tidy) beard!

You say women as well?.......hmmmmmmmmmmm remind me NOT to have an eng failuer anywhere near the Kimberlies !:}

I used to have a beard for many years, most of my adult life actually up 'till about 5 years ago but found that the older I got the women tended to stay away more & more, soon lost that!:E

Beards and major sidelevers etc banned by our company due to the possibility of interference with Oxygen masks.

I guess thats fairer than oxygen masks being banned due to possibility of interference with beards...

I've been bearded since 1992 - only a short stint in '98 - '00 without one as the airline I was with didn't allow them.
But now I'm getting older and more cantankerous, whoever I may work for in my semi-retirement will have to put up with my hairy face. It's not coming off again.

Some people shave their heads. It seems to be the fashion. It is a silly, uneccessary, illogical thing to do.
Shaving your face is the same.

Interferance with an oxygen mask? Surely those pilots manly enough to sport facial hair don't suffer from hypoxia. It's the unbearded pilots who may suffer from the effects of hunger due to a lack of spare leftovers that I worry about.

Every time my family gets on an aeroplane crewed by some smooth-faced jet jock you can bet that I stick to non-alcoholic beverages just in case I'm required to save the day should the crew succumb to the hunger unknown to bearded pilots.
