I am about to apply for a new job and it will be the first time in a long time that I have done so. They want a CV and while I am pretty happy with the structure and content, I was wondering what to put down for the important stuff like hours etc.

My guess is:

Total time
Time on types
P1/P2 hours
Ratings
Licence details

Would anybody add in anything else?? I guess this is the section they wil spend most of the few seconds attention looking at so I want to get it right!

I did do a search on here and I know there are loads of sample CVs on the web but I couldn't find anything really professional pilot specific if you know what I mean..

As a 200-odd hour rookie, my CV had the following...

Personal Information
Profile
Licences, Ratings and Medical Certifications
Flight Experience (Total, P1, MEP, SEP and Sim)
Flight Training Summary
Previous Career History
Education Summary
Interests (very short)
References (on request)

Kept it all to one-side of A4.

Must have been OK as I got the job :ok:

Think of your CV as an advert more than anything else and do not get harnessed into an artificial structure just because of convention . Main selling points screaming at the front, smallprint with a few necessary but uninteresting facts at the bottom.

The cv has to be tailored to the specific job so in some cases the type rating and time on type might be the single most important thing. If you do not hold the rating then it may be the total flight time. If you are going for a cpt position then PIC is very important but if it is an FO position PIC is just nice to know stuff.

For an experienced Cpt I would go for:

PIC time
Time on relevant type
Total time

Other ratings
Licences

Quick summary of flight experience (ie 5000 hours 737 command in charter ops Europe)

For a low hours FO :

Total time
Ratings (if any)
MEP
IFR

Licenses

Quick summary of flight experience (ie trained at xxx FTO, hour building in xxx)

Is all about sell, sell, sell
