Good info, now I can write on behalf of Indonesian ATC to complain about their pilot's dismal English. It took 10 minutes to do a clearance for them because no one understood their readbacks!

LOL

SWH,. .It was a joke, and yes, we have the same problem here. Garuda too have the same problem. However, ATC here is a major problem. Despite all this, I do not look down on them, nor do I look down on CZ pilots.

No matter how frustrating it gets, they're doing their jobs.

My post was meant as a joke, apologies for my carelessness it not specifying it as one.

I hope you're not one of those cargo pilots that come in at the unGodly hour of the day, only to receive the worst ATCOs Indonesia has ever produced on the other end of the line.

Oh, Datalink at WIII ? Knowing Indonesians, that may not be a good idea.

PK-KAR and SWH

Have you ever flown in Europe ???. . You would be suprised at the extent of local . . lenguage usage in not just one contry. Some years ago . . French controlers had such accent that it was hard . . to tell weather they . . were speaking French or English.. . After some years in Indonesia I started considering their ATC as reasonably profesional regarding use of English.

PK-KAR a question for you.. . In another topic you mentioned that there may be . . some positions on 737-400 in Indonesia.I left the place 5 years ago but still have Indonesian ATPL. .somewhere.Can you give some details.. . Thanks

Mandala Airlines did indicate that they were going to open some positions for 734s, but I think they've resorted to using GA pilots on loan and use their own supply of 732 pilots.

Another one is AWAirlines, they've been indicating their intention to buy 734s, but it would be through regionair... So I'm not sure on the recruitment process there... they recently got an A320 to replace their SOLE A313... so I don't buy their "claims"

So many 733/4 wannabes here in Indonesia now...
