Hi

When I book my flights for my 12 month visit to Florida, do I need to book reurn flights to get into the states? (To prove I intend to leave in a year)

Or can I book a one-way ticket and expect no problems at immigration??

Not many airlines have released seats for when I will be returning to the UK - but I dont want to waste money on a one-way ticket that isnt valid with my visa!

No you don't need one.

Having a return ticket is NO INDICATION AT ALL of your intention to return to your home country. Think about it.

The immigration officer will ask you a few questions while he's running your passport and fingerprint and taking your photo.

If you are flying into Florida, they are well used to the thousands of students that come in each day.

They asked me about training and what I was up to and why Florida. Very pleasant experience indeed.

If you get asked why you have a one way ticket.....just tell the truth like you did in your post. Not a factor.

Enjoy your training!
