JAA approved IR course

Hi all,

I hold a (Dutch) JAA PPL(A) SEP and the JAA ATPL(A) theory.

I would like to obtain a JAA CPL(A) and IR in the USA and take advantage of the low Dollar. I was informed (by the Dutch CAA) that it is not possible to obtain a JAA IR in a non-JAA state. However, the UK CAA should accept this course in a non-JAA state and convert the licence.

Has someone experience with obtaining a JAA IR outside a JAA state?

As the authorities said - it's not possible.

You can do a CPL through the UK authorities - but not an I/R.
