Here's my dilemma. I can either decide to try to get my TR paid for, along with a CRI, and work as an instructor/mentor pilot, or self-fund a TR on the (well placed) suggestion then there may be work available afterwards as an FO. So, in these days of doom and gloom what do people already flying bizjets think? Is it worth a a speculative spend (assuming I can get on a TR)? If I did decide to do a SSTR which jet gives the best chance of employment at the moment?

Errm,

Do your research. Many have given their opinion on the subject on this forum with probably very little new info to add.

And, if you think that today is doom and gloom, then you're in for a real shock when the next downturn hits.

You MAY eventually end up without work and thousands for the SSTR thrown out. :E

If you decide to go for it, get them to say there will be work available afterwards, and get it in writing...! I'd never go for a SSTR on a "may be" base.
