dont go down that road
absolute no job security
ask the bhoys in QTR
O\ZON,
Every expat in the Middle East works on a contract, so would you care to explain why you think that it’s a bad idea?
OCC, do you have a FAA dispatchers licence?
Mutt.
Thanks Guys,
O/ZON I know what you mean have worked for QTR already but a while ago.
MUTT no I don't have an FAA Ticket, but I do agree with you on any Middle East gig you are on a contract no it is only as secure as the minimum notice on that contract. The tides can change very quick it that part of the world.
Thanks again

Mutt,
Not every expat in the Middle East works on a contract. As far as the money goes your better on a contract than staff. Either way they change your contract/benefits as and when they like regardless of whether your staff or contract. Your in THEIR country as we expats so often get told, so seemingly they can change the rules accordingly.
Whats the matter with QTR! http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif
Compression Ratio,
I stand corrected, thanks.
Mutt.
romeo747,
I worked there in 1994 / 5, how about you ?

Compression ratio, I feel that your sweeping statements about 'them' are too generalised and do not accurately reflect the situation here in the Middle East. Have you suffered a grievous injustice at some time ?

OCC,
If you are interested in a dispatcher teaching position, I would suggest getting a FAA ticket (quickly) and keeping you eye on the back pages of Flight International.

Mr Blue Sky,
No grievous injustice personally, but know of a number of people who have. Sorry if my statement was too general. But it's true contracters that have joined the company after some people on staff have been given better pay and conditions. Mostly applicable to Oil Companies around the place.
