Anybody at Kalitta or Atlas have a line on where one might pick up a copy of a book a pilot put together on the Classic 747, possibly referred to as the "blakely book?" I understand it has a blue cover...looking for someone who knows where one could be purchased. PM with details. Thanks.

There is another great book on the 747 Classic written by an ex-BA Captain called Stan Stewart. The title is 'Flying the Big Jets' by Stanley Stewart (NOT to be confused with 'Handling the Big Jets') I don't know if it's still in print but, speaking as a Classic F/E, it is a great read.

JB stopped updating it or publishing it due to lack of time, but a PO FE has taken over.

Much of the book was Polar specific to it's old classic fleet (now obsolete) It contained Polar phone numbers, old Polar procedures/some GOM info, acft differences per Polar tail numbers, ect.
It was revised many times, however the 8" manual did contain a reasonable systems synopsis. It's author (John Blakley) is a real nice guy. He may possibly be found at Polar Opps/training.
