Hi, still planning this career move, making sure i have enough money at the back end of the courses, just a quick request for realistic income, would really help my plans.

FI(r) - full time = £????

TP 1st Officer - £

Air line 1st Officer - £

Thanks in advance,

B

An airline First Officer (low hours) could expect to earn between £25,000 and £35,000 depending on whether you are paying them back for your type rating.

Turboprop FOs would probably earn between £20,000 and £30,000.

Those figures are estimates and assume you haven't unfrozen your ATPL yet and don't have a shed load of hours.

Don't forget that if you are one of the unluck few who don't get offered at least 10 jobs by the time they have a nice shinny new Blue Book that a burger flipper gets minimum wage!

Best of luck though.

This spreadsheet may give you an idea of what is possible for FI earnings but the reality is that many earn somewhere around £15-18k PA even though with the planner you can see that as you alter the variables it can look very attractive. Most jobs have set conditions and traditions and free enterprise may not be so easy to apply to an FI post. Others will no doubt give figures for other jobs. Good luck.

The majority of Turbo Prop pilots ARE airline pilots. Or do you mean charter/ air-taxi on kingairs, Piper cheyenne's etc?
