Just saw VH-ZHA depart from YMAY supporting a red sqaure 'patch' over the virgin blue girl and flag on the left side near the nose of the jet?

Anyone know why?

Is it just me or does the virgin blue girl on that aircraft look a bit like a blow up doll... In almost 8years of her adorning the Virgin Blue fleet, i've never noticed it until that pic?! I think it's the lips? And the 'surprised' look on her face...?

Not that I have one... :suspect:

Been there for months.

Ramp rash. In the words of the Great Welsh Cheeseball: It's not unusual.

LOL ozangel now that you point it out it does look like one of 'them things'

I would also like to say on the public record that i have never had sexual relations with that blow up doll.

But a mate of a mate of mine did!

I heard the apparent (blow up doll) logo is suppose to be Holly Branson ??

The skin was punctured by an aerobridge in SYD.

Lucky it wasn't a 787

it would be no different, just bonded on patch instead of riveted on.

ozangel, I had the same problem for a while, but I found that if I stopped sneaking up on her (as was my practice with other girls) she stopped looking so surprised.
Hope that helps, cjam

Some years ago we were asked to use high speed tape to seal a radome avionics area door from water ingress during the monsoon. We were told absolutely not and that it would come off above 200 mph according to the manuals on the tape at that time. I wonder what field Supplemental Type Certificate or manufacturers deviation list allows this tape to be on "there for months".

I am not an engineer but I would be concerned with tape being used forward of the pitot tubes because of the possibility of it coming off and blocking or damaging them. Other than that perhaps the high speed tape now days has a higher speed rating.

The aircraft was not repaired with tape! The repair scheme required the aluminium repair to shaped similar to a postage stamp.
