Saudia Arabian Airlines is and has been looking for qualified MD-80 instructor pilots for their fleet of MD-90s. The original solicitation wanted MD-90 instructors. Discovering that they don't exist, for hire anyway, the qualification was reduced to MD-80 instructor time and most recently DC-9 instructor time. The requirement is rather high, 1,000 hours of instructor time, but at this point I'm sure the time is "negotiable". The headhunter handling the contract is Bold Horizon, e-mail [email protected]. (address to Gary Odom & website: www.boldhorizon.com). (http://www.boldhorizon.com).) According to them the 5 year contract will gross the applicant US$850K. Sounds good but Jedea is the place and as for details of actual duties it could be anything from taking individual crews from simulator through Line Training to sitting in the jumpseat as a supervisor. Gary Odom at Bold Horizon would have the specific details. One catch is FAA ATPL with DC-9 type mandatory. Instructor time for the purpose of this contract means a good mix of simulator instruction and Line Training.
Good luck.
