Died yesterday,:( one of me favorite actors of the fifties early sixties period,my generation were brought up on Westerns both on Television and the Cinema, and he stared in my favorite Western of that period, Warlock, had not seen Warlock for many years until quite recently when it was on telly, watching it again of course one sees it as rather silly now, most western were, simple easy to understand morality tales, well my generation grew up in simpler times I suppose.
:(
RIP Mr Widmark

I would say his best movie was the Bedford Incident, that one has stood the test of time.

Played a good Jim Bowie in The Alamo (1960).

Had assumed he was already gorn: Good knock.

I remember his TV role as Detective Madigan (which I suspect has been lampooned a few times since).
