Just wanted others view on completing an A320 type rating with no job offer. Would it be adviseable? 2500 hours, no turbine, 400 multi.

Cheers

with that sort of experience you could have a DASH 8 command at Qantaslink then go to Virgin....

I would advise against it. As newsensation says you could end up going elsewhere and you've blown $30K plus. Worse still you could end up going nowhere..no offense meant. Airlines with jets are taking guys with only piston hours, you don't need a jet endo to get a job. If they like you they'll give you a job no worries.

Good luck.

I know a guy who paid for an A-320 endo and he's still flying a turbo-prop!

Don't do it!!:uhoh:

You still have to get through the employment process the same as guys without an endorsement.

Not a good idea.

In this day and age it is definately an advantage having a type rating.

The airlines may possibly see it as one less person they have to find a training slot for in the sim. And sim time these days is at a premium.

If you want to fly the airbus, there are 2 airlines in Australia and many more in south east asia that are taking pilots fresh out of the sim.

Good luck
