Just trying to find out a little about the danger, if any for forigners in Algeria,city of Oran. All the Embassy's say stay away is it actually that bad.

Take the embassies advise, and steer clear of Algeria....Went there on a mission a couple of month's back, did 3 presentations to 3 different airlines in Algiers, and flew out same day.
Fairly safe in the capital but wouldn't take ANY chances outside in the "boonies"....seriously screwed up locals who don't think twice about taking out "infidels". In fact they believe it is commanded by their prophet that they are to rid their land of westerners...don't know what version of the "Koran" they read!!!
Life is not a game, don't "play" with it.
