Hi,
I am (as per my previous postings ) decided to do my ATPL the modular route. I know the best choice of training would be here in the UK. Particularly the PPL with UK ground school.
I have it all sorted on a spread sheet! And the plan was to slot in in between work.... I work all over the place and am away for weeks at a time as a commercial diver... so i can pay as I learn. I have been trying to get up in the air in for a few weeks now for my first lesson, but the weather is making this impossible! Most of the time I have at home is because we cant work........ because of the weather!!
I appreciate that a good PPL and good ground school will stand me in good stead for my ATPL ground theory at Bournemouth with cabair. I have pulled in some favours in South Africa to hours build at my mates skydiving school..see what i mean I have worked everything out. BUT to do that I need the PPL!!!!!!!
Here in lies the core of my question, I have limited time to fly, my plan was to do 5 sections of intensive flying of 10 hours at a time every 3 weeks, taking time off work and to study for the theory in the gaps when offshore.
I feel the best way to do this based on my circumstances would be to train in a more hospitable climate. This beleif is nothing to do with the financial benefits. where is the best place to learn?????? FAA FAR etc..
I would really apprciate your advices and thank you in advance.
Now for the killer question, to be a great commercial pilot do I need to grow a moustache? If so any Airline specific styles? Grooming tips also would be appreciated.
