View Full Version : Vista Product Key
Is there any way to read the product Key off the original installation Disk.
Upgrading with a bigger H/D and apparently have misplaced the Product key.
Guess as a last resort I could always clone the old drive to the new one.
Thanks,
Earl

If you mean from the installation CD, then no, since it's not on there. It's either in the Vista manual, on a certificate sheet, or stuck to the computer if preinstalled.
If you mean from the hard disk, then yes. It's encrypted in the registry, so Googling for a key finder program should help.
Earl,
Download and run this software http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html , you will get all your program keys listed.
Thanks Nani,
Belarc worked like a charm, all keys listed.
