Hi All!, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel in New York, preferably with industry discount? Somewhere not too far from town would be good.

Cheers

Try The Five Towns Motor Inn out by JFK. They aren't close to Manhattan, but I think they will drop off/pickup at a nearby subway station.

Its mostly crews who stay at this place, so they will treat you right.

But do NOT, I repeat DO NOT stay at the Ramada Plaza JFK. Our crews just changed due to a human head being found right around the corner of the hotel, I believe on hotel property. But not sure on the details as this was after my stay.

Also, the dirty buggers charged me $600 in local phone calls for my 40+ days stay with them, even after the sales director said he would adjust the bill because of my lengthy stay.

You might also give Sunrise Hotel a call. Know a lot of commuters that stay there before commencing their trip. Number is 516-593-1600. They have shuttle/van service and are located about 10 min away.
