Hello, has anyone got any info or experience from doing a B737 or B757 type rating at Alpha Aviation Group ex Bondaviation??

Have heard they offer a line training at either Astraeus or Sterling, but does one have to pay for it? Or do you get paid (which I'd think would be normal, no I do not want to pay for line training)

Cheers

You get 100 hrs line training as part of your type rating training. The line training is sporadic to say the least. And there's no guarantee of a job at the end of it. My advice, avoid it.

If you're prepared to pay for a type rating, then try Ryanair. They're not everyone's cup of tea but you'll get the type rating you're after and a job at the end of it. Then build hours fast and move on if you don't like it.

I did something similar with the same organisation and would personally NEVER recommend it. That is not to say some have not been successful.....but at the moment, there is a shortage of cadets in the world...you may not need to pay in the end!

Good luck with your decision.

Ok thank you guys. I hold a JAA CPL/IR/MEP with MCC and about 500 TT.

I have always been against buying a TR, and I still am, just looking at the possibilities. Any advice would be appreciated what would be best way to go.

Thanks

Aviator 101, Maybe im going against the grain by advising you to consider Alpha (ex Bond). As has been said ad nauseam here there are no guaranteees with anything.

I did my TR with Bond Nov/Dec and found the instruction level top notch. The admin people are very accomodating and show an interest in your progress.

I have no experience with line training as i got a job offer while i was training and a few others airlines expressed interest once i finished. Do your research and look into the job market before you commit. time of year you start can make a big difference as not all airlines recruit year round. I know of people who have completed TR's and not had a sniff for over a year.

If its only the TR you are interested in then Alpha are highly recommended.

Hi

Wouldn’t touch this company with a barge pole, I did do my type rating with them, although all worked out for me and I get paid to fly now, they failed to provide the product they said they would mainly the line training.

If you wish to pay for type rating (sadly the way the market gone in my opinion) then do it with someone else is my advice!
