General Requirements - Performance Class A

JAR-OPS 1.245 allows an Off Airport Distance equal to a single
engine flight time of 120 minutes for all performance class A
aeroplanes with 19 seats or less and a MTOM of less than 45
360 kg without further restrictions.

So above is clear and simple for JAR OPS 1 commercial operators.
I fly Emb Legacy 600 for private owner and aircraft is registered in Europe.

What is the case in private operation. here in Europe.
FAA has released private jets from 120 minutes rule. It is not too easy to find answer ( JAA and ICAO ruling )

Never did actually get the answer.

I was looking for G5 aircraft, and as I understand the situation the G550 is 180 mins, but the GV is only 120 mins. at 327 kts.

Which is actually very limiting, for my next trip to Chile from Middle East.

I suggest you ask the manufacturer for the type approval certificate, on this is the EROPS approval, and the distance should be listed there.

Happy hunting. glf

Does JAA regulate private, noncommercial flights, or is this left to individual states to decide?

For the time being, there is no JAROPS 2. This was the regulation for private ops that the JAA wanted to implement. Now its EASAs turn, the first thing to come in this respect is the requirements for maintenance (CAMO).
There is something in the works and according to what I HEARD (no hard facts) it will be out by autumn and is then subject to verification/implementation of the member States.
