Aviation Training Business in Asia And Far East. Any Advice please?

I currently have a reasonably successful aviation Training business in the UK. It specialises in CRM, Human Factors Etc. I have made the decision to move to Thailand in order that I can focus on family life. The business continues to run in the UK. However, I find I cannot sit down and do nothing all day. I have purchased a Cabin Crew Training Company in Bangkok, and also want to get back in to CRM. Asia is the boom industry for aviation at the moment. But out here it is not what you know, it is who you know.

Anybody in these parts (Thailand, Vietnam, India etc) got any ideas of any airlines which may be interested in the CRM, Human Factors angle? I am specifically thinking of those airlines now focusing on International destinations who must do all they can to comply with FAA and EASA regs. Either that or if you want a free beer and a chat next time you are overnighting in BKK then pm me. Any 'feet' in the doors gratefully received.

interested in the CRM, Human Factors Where I work I'd say the biggest influence is cultural differences, much more than a lack of CRM.

I appreciate the reply. I am familiar with Clark. They tend to be involved in complete pilot training packages at regional centers if I am not mistaken.It may be worth me enquiring with them if they are after CRMIs?CRMIEs In this area.We tend to get involved only in the CRM/HF side. Either implementing new programs for the respective training departments, or offering FAA, EASA standardization for CRM training departments within airlines. I am just after anything to stop me turning into a vegetable by sitting down relaxing all day:)

Agreed. Cross-cultural issues can cause more aggro in large multi-national airlines than anything else. However that said the Cutural issues/differences can also be those things that make it so good to work in an environment where colleagues are from the four corners of the globe (wherever they are!)

I've run a training centre here now for over 9 years.

PM me and I'll give you chapter & verse on living and working here. I assure you it is not something to take likely. It is NOT easy, to be frank, it is no longer even that enjoyable.

This environment is NO LONGER a good one for non Thai operations.

Kwaiyai would also be a very good source of unbiased information.
