After 4000hrs of belting around single engine low level I'm thinking its time to upgrade my qualifications and persue a more family friendly job.

I have a few questions for those of you in the know.

1. Which irex theory books are the best or should I get a few?

2. How long after passing the irex do you have to finish the rating?

3. Does total time and s/e turbine time count for much when looking for a good twin gig or do I start at the bottom like everyone else and if so what time frame would I expect to move up to twin turbine?

I know threre are a lot of variables but just a general idea would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

1: Bob Tait. Only book I used, passed first go.

2: No time limit as far as I'm aware, same as passing CPL subjects

3: A twin gig is possible, but it's also possible that the company may require you to start at the bottom and work your way up.
