Just seen on the Farnborough Website that the Vulcan is booked for 2008, anyone got any news on what else will there? A400M maybe?

Think you will find the Vulcan is booked on most shows but lists published early
are always subject to confirmation. As for Farnborough more Definite news
is unlikely before JUNE as things progress . Keep looking on the Show website and join on there the friends of Farnborough list run by SBAC.
On the show the Aldershot military Museum is opening an Exhibition on CODY

Cody was a real character and had that American "Can Do" blood in his veins.

"Samuel Cody, the aviation pioneer and the first man to fly a heavier-than-air machine in the British Isles, lived for the last two years of his life at Ash Vale. His house - 'Valecroft' - at the junction of Frimley Road and Lysons Avenue, bears a blue commemorative plaque."

Planning and preparation is now in the final few weeks for the ninth in the popular series of Abingdon Air & Country Show events held on the May Day Bank Holiday weekend(4th May 2008) at Abingdon airfield,Dalton Barracks,Abingdon,Oxon.For the second year in succession we will be raising awareness and funding for the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance based at RAF Benson.
As well as the hoped-for appearance of the Air Ambulance helicopter we will be staging a full three hour flying display in the afternoon.Aircraft involved should include historic aircraft like the Douglas Dc-6,Percival Pembroke,Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk and the legendary Supermarine Spitfire.From today's armed forces we hope to have a RAF Hawk and Royal Navy Lynx in the flying display with RAF Merlin helicopter and Grob Vigilant on static display.
People will be able to actually take to the skies one of the historic aircraft of the Air Atlantique Classic Flight which were very popular in 2007.Several other aircraft will be on static display and private pilots will be able to fly their own aircraft into Abingdon on the day.The day is expected to finish with a mass launch of hot-air balloons in the early evening.

As well as the aviation attractions,we hope to have a wide selection of historic vehicles including the welcome return of the MG Works Car Rally that proved popular in 2007.Another locally produced car which marks a significant anniversary in 2008 in the Morris Minor(first produced in 1948) and we hope to be having a gathering of these present.As well as cars there should be buses,steam engines and ex-military vehicles on show...the latter including three tanks available for pleasure rides on the all-terrain course on the western edge of the main show site.

A wide range of childrens amusements,live music from Oxford & Kennington Brass Band,Flight Simulators,Dr Who's TARDIS,Dog Agililty Team,arena events,craft marquee and club/trade stalls make this a very good day out for all the family
Obviously all advertised attractions are subject to weather,serviceability,availability etc,and while we announce them in the best of faith,we can take no responsibility for any non-appearances.
Gates open at the Barrow Road entrance to the airfield at 10 o' clock in the morning and the day ends at 5.30 in the evening.

Under-5s get in FREE and car-parking on-site is also FREE...and there is a dedicated car-parking area set aside for disabled visitors.

A full size replica of British Army Aeroplane No 1A (BAA-1A) in which Samuel F Cody made the first powered controlled flight in the UK on October 16th 1908 will be displayed in the Pioneers of Flight Pavilion at the Farnborough Airshow this centenary year (July 14th to 20th). Also featured will be a replica of a Wright Flyer and some early A V Roe machines. A not to be missed opportunity for historic aviation enthusiasts.

Boeing will be sending in one of the numerous 777's parked at KPAE field as part of the static display.

Just to advise that the B. of B. Lancaster is scheduled to make a flyby over the Ponderosa Farm Thereapeutic Centre at Heckmondwike, near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire on Sunday July 13 at 3.30 pm.

Flying Legends Air Show, Duxford 12/13 July

I only mention this because I believe it was probably B-17 "Pink Lady" which flew north over Holloway Rd here about half an hour ago - looked and sounded very fine at approx 1500'.

More likely to be Liberty Bell 3rd Ear, I think she was at Biggin for at least part of the weekend.

If it was, then I should have kept my eyes out of the office window, probably would have seen her trundling round Biggin's circuit on departure. Ah, the price of conscientiousness!

Following its preparations on Friday for its daily flying demonstrations at Farnborough International Air Show from week 14th-20th July, the Airbus A380 development aircraft MSN 004 is spending Saturday 12th July demonstrating its capabilities to more than half a million people in South, West and North West England.
Flown by Airbus pilots Peter Chandler and Frank Chapman, the A380 is taking up invitations to makes its public debut at some of the largest and most prestigious public events in the country, as well as making its first appearance at the North West's major airports.
Manchester Airport
- an approach and go-around at 1.20pm
Liverpool John Lennon Airport
- an approach and go-around at 1.25pm
A low level flight along the River Mersey (weather permitting), visible from the Liverpool and Birkenhead waterfronts - in recognition of Liverpool's status as 2008 European Capital of Culture (between 1.25pm and 1.30pm).
Wirral Show
- a display at approx 1.30pm (This will take place over the coast, west of New Brighton and is weather dependent).
