Conspiracy theories are always interesting.
Look back over the last five years...does anyone see an intersting picture?
AO is set up primarily to test the waters but also to scare the hell out of the domestics...which it did.The Domestics caved in and sold out Longhaul.
Ostensibly to protect themselves.
Then MAM casuals then became part of the landscape...effectively the introduction of B Scale.
The domestics became cheap and ended up with a large chunk of what became known as regional flying.
LHCC was on the nose with management and were being VR'd into oblivion.
QCCA is set up and EBA8 begins being negotiated. All of a sudden LHCC are back in the picture big time and the domestics are dealt out of the hand.
Why?
The domestics were saving the company money and the more expensive Mohicans appeared to be on their last legs.
Did management blink?
Is the FAAA that clever?
Did Howard getting the boot change the IR landscape?
Was giving the Domestics International flying a mistake or a ploy?.
Are all these questions relative to a Grand Plan by management to Right Size LH and remove a lot of the deadwood?
We will never know the answer but its interesting to try and figure out the puzzle.
Someone needs to get a life...3am in LAX
