I am eager to find out anything about Midway Airlines, N.C. What are they like to work for, employment conditions etc.

There is an article in the January 2001 issue of Airways that highlights Midway. Article said that upgrades are 12 to 18 months, the fleet should be reduced to two types by 2002, 26 CRJ's and 22 B737-700's, and employment should increase to 2500, from the 1500 now. They fly currently north south out of RDU, but they do go west to SJC and Steamboat Springs. Sorry to say, the Fokkers are being phased out http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

I have more than a passing interest in these guys as I'm in their neck of the woods. Jumpseated with them a couple of weeks ago and they seemed very friendly and helpful. The B737-700s are nice too. Like a lot of Regionals these days, they seem to be phasing out the turboprops in favor of RJs etc. I imagine it would be a good time to get with them. Midway has never operated turboprops, their fleet consisted of 12 F100's and a single A320. Over the last several years, they disposed of the A320 and most of the F100's, replacing them with CRJ's and B737-700's. The F100's are going to be gone within the next couple of years, making them solely a CRJ and B737 operator. Currently, they are in talks with American regarding their marketing agreement, which could have an big impact on their future.

Technically that is correct although they do operate J32s under the Midway Corporate banner (Corporate Airlines contract).

Thanks for the replies. I am trying to get an interview with them for next January. Any other info re: pay and work conditions would be appreciated.
