if you are luck (just to find someone who fly schedule to JNB and take the leg to Europe/Middle East, then from there to China no problem at all) you get a quote for at least 380.000 USD

Try Cargo B to Europe and then everyone to China.

Or simply contact some brokers.

Try MK Airlines, they go to both those destinations,,,,

For a chartered 742 [classic] typically you'd be paying minimum USD $5000 per block hour ACMI [Airplane/crew/maintenance/insurance], Plus fuel, landing fees, handling charges, navigation charges; for a 744 USD $6,500+

sounds a bit cheap almost like a business jet rates

747 burns $10000+ an hour just for fuel.. Don't mix ACMI and all in rates. For 742F all in rate is more like 15k EUR (not USD) per hour, don't forget about positioning and depositioning sectors.

Don't consider ACMI rates in this thread. He's looking for a single ad hoc charter, so cargo charter market rates should be applied.

I don't quite understand why you are not talking to some air charter brokers.
This sort of requirement is exactly what they are there for.

Without return loads, those 4-5 flights are going to be painfully expensive...
