G'day

Does anyone know if the Dale River Airstrip (36nm SE of Perth) is still operational? It used to be well utilised by a skydiving club. I was trying to spot it a few weeks ago from the air and couldn't find anything that even looked like a runway. I could probably blame my shocking nav skills but I'm sure we were in the right area!

Cheers,
Tiger

As far as I know it is no longer operational. Yeah, It's hard to see. It's a small grass strip that blends in with the surrounding grass.

Well, I dunno if it's Dale River but there's a drop zone east of Perth where one of our mates goes skydiving and I'm pretty sure it's Dale River. I'll ask him.

Dale River is easy to spot....once you know where it is :P

Can't say I have ever had any trouble finding it either.

On the Brookton Hwy, first paddocs east of the ranges and just before the beverly turn off.

Just look for the paddock that looks like there is no way you could land in it, and thats it.

Don't know if Clive is still operating for sure but I though they still were.

Skydiving ceased at Dale R a couple of years back.

Thanks for all the info. When I flew over it in about 2004 it was easy to spot, which is why i was kinda concerned when I couldnt find it on the recent flight.

Cheers,
Tiger.
