I've enjoyed many rides over the Atlantic on your red birds in the past.
Than the privilege stopped for KLM pilots since we could not reciprocate. Understandable.
Now a group of KLM pilots has been trying very hard to make the jumpseat on KLM flights available for themselves and all partner pilots. It looked like it was going to happen, discussions with NorthWest have resulted in lifting the previous mentioned ban. The forms were even printed. However for some obscure reason, which our chief pilot (nowadays Executive Vice-President Operations. what's in a name.) is not willing to communicate to us, it is cancelled at the last moment. I would like to ask of all NorthWest pilots reading this to please talk to the guys who deal with this on your end and see if they can put some pressure on those dumb Dutchies who can't get it together. We're turning up the heat from this side too. Since we got the new JAA text in our Operation Manuals now it should be so easy. Any help from your side is greatly appreciated, a letter, e-mail explaining the mutual benefit at almost no cost. Thanks in advance and we hope to have you ride with us soon.
