On one of my many visits to an airline related recruitment website, I stumbled across an advert recruiting cabin crew for Skyblue Aviation, out of Exeter.
I gather, its a joining of a pilot training company with Atlantic Express, offering charter services using an ATR 42. Been given an interview, but does anyone have any further info about the company, pay etc? It all looks very dodgy, and not particularly "Secure" in job terms, but if it means getting my seniors quicker...

Yeah, I remember reading something about that. Something to do with Air Atlantique. Might be worth checking out. It probably won't be a career to last you to retirement but could be some nice easy flying for a season. The ATR is great. You're on your own on the -42 which can be a bit boring.

Nothing dodgy about Skyblue Aviation. They are independent of Atlantic and train flight crew on the ATR42/72. As mentioned they are based in EXT.
Atlantic Express want to re-introduce an ATR42 for ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance & Insurance) charters. The aircraft will be operated on their behalf by Skyblue. In this type of operation the flying can be infrequent (but there are no other UK-based ACMI operators using turboprops, so they might be onto something) but is usually not routine. One of my ex-colleagues (from cabin crew days) who used to do ACMI charters on Air Atlantique's ATRs loved it.

Be careful heard from a friend working with me they just want use the ATR to train people not for real operations. They say 99% of their students are working inside companies but it is not true, their rate of employement is just around 60 % or sometimes even lower.
Money calls money you know what I mean.

Hi there, I've had an interview with them and they seem genuine!
I guess everyone starts somewhere and they are pretty new to the area!
I think they are very trustworthy, just starting a new venture, thats all!!:) Good luck and go for it!

ISBN - do you really believe that they would recruit cabin crew if the ATR was for base training only? And do you think that Skyblue would spend the better part of about US$ 4 million for a second-hand ATR42, only to use it for base checks? Of course they will do ACMI charters with it - they have to get their money back somehow. Do you know many TRTOs that could afford to use an aircraft 3-4 times a month, and leave it on the ground the rest of the time?
They are genuine - they've been in the training business for a while and have a wealth of experience on ATRs and 737s.

P.S: As for the job placement figures you quote, not too sure where you get them from. Surely, only Skyblue know exactly how many of their graduates find employment afterwards? Do you include self-sponsored only, or airline students as well? ATR graduates only, or ATR and 737 graduates? Anyway, this thread is on the cabin crew forum, so let's not mess the issue with flight deck stuff.
Strange . Each time the comments abouts SkyBlue become old , it comes out a guy or a person talking about the T/R in Skyblue or asking informations. Indeed they are a genuine business people. Once they need to make an advertisement about their T/R courses or whatever operation they come here with different profiles and they start to open different threads. Strange! Infact I believe the moderator has understood this game and many of this threads are closed after a couple of weeks. Not genuine but just smart business men.
That's what they are. They don't have any second ATR. Just one as many other T/R schools.

ISBN I think you are this kind of frustrats guys. In have 4 friends that make type rating in skyblue, all 4 finded a job in less that 6 month time. 1 is in a spanish company, 3 are in inglish-irish company.
all those friends are realy happy with skyblue aviation, they got trained in inglish with experience instuctors. They are very profesionals.
Here we go, another genuine Skyblue aviation worker giving nice comments about Skyblue. How much do you gain each month for this ? What you are saying is absolutely false as many ex-Skyblue's stiudents got a job because they were lucky enough to be able to pay another type in another TRTO and they got a job after. Some others were not so lucky and they finally had to move on something else but as you are so genuine you forgot to mention that.
