Hey Doc, snap out of it:}

Look where the commar is....and the lack of the extra zero.

That would be a culture shock......the Doc training the locals!:E

I guess its a working holiday, and $30K plus over there is possibly being well paid! Cheap living maybe? Who knows?

I don't think I'll be lining up for it........

At least you could get a decent feed of Chinese hopefully!

FTDK at least could introduce them to ICAO Level 4 English and probably a good bit of the Australian language as well.

I spent nearly 2 years in that dump. The fact that it's still alive amazes me....

Hmmm lets see, thats A$29529.50 net Thats piss money only.

If you wont to compare it to Aust dollars, then compare apples with apples. Here in Perth the average weekly rent has hit $300. Thats $15,600/year. Rent in any suberb worth living in is on average $375/week or $19,500/year. So already you have an annual income in Aust dollars of between $45,129.50 and $49,029.00 net. Add to that health insurance paid for by the company and you could add on another few hundred dollars (I dont know how much it really costs, but my wife is forever carrying on about it). Now add what ever tax you wont to it, but either way I doubt you would of got this sum as a grade 3 four years ago in Australia.

I wrote to these guys about 2 yrs ago, when they first started advertising in Aus, and told them i was interested and would like further information... They wrote back saying that was very unproffesional of me, and if i was interested i should send a resume... HAHAHA, i told em to stick it!

Maybe they haven't heard about the pilot shortage yet.:}
Seriously though, that sort of money is paid to nationals of third world countries for the same work.

I have a mate flying there and he likes it. All the money you make, you keep. Everything is paid for .. hotel accommodation, medicals, renewals, currency flights, Chinese taxes, uniforms, health insurance (provided by an Australian company based in Sydney). He spends about $400 USD a month for food and entertainment (food is dirt cheap in China) and saves about USD $1700 a month. By end of contract, he plans to have saved about $30,000 USD. When making comparisons with wages and conditions, take these things into consideration.

But note, it's a slow process to get your Chinese CPL/IR license so you'll need to have patience. And Chinese lifestyle is NOT for everyone .. no doubt there will be people who'd hate it .. and those who do, won't last long there. Ni Hao.

My goodness. Its good to see that short sightedness crosses cultures I'm assuming you are directing that comment to me Mr Hat.

I can assure you there is no short sightedness here mate. I only pointed out that the add stated net as opposed to gross and also various additional benefits making AUD 29,530 a resonable salary IF LIVING IN CHINA.
and saves about USD $1700 a month
Hell, I am on reasonable coin for an Aussie GA company and I cant do this here......

Of course if you are supporting a family staying in Australia or other financial commitments then this is more then likely not for you.

Pilot shortage yes, and we finally have the upper hand for T&C negotiations, but you have to keep it real. A 500 hour pilot can not IMO demand a tripple figure salary, no matter where they go.

I was amazed too that the AFAP let it on their site. But then .... what good is the AFAP beyond LOL insurance any way?

Toothless tigers have more bite. :yuk:

I was amazed too that the AFAP let it on their site.

What's the big deal with BPIAA advertising on the AFAP website? There have been Australian instructors working there in the past and there's currently at least one Ausise working there now. So what's the big deal?

I for one appreciate that they have actually included information such as the $ and other tidbits in the advertisement, a lot can be said for some of the clandestine ads on there.

Makes it easier for you to make a decision whether to apply or not.

No not aimed at you monopole - just saying that these days if you arereally serious about getting enough people to allow you to attract train and retain people you have to be offering good money.

Living is expensive and life is short. Good luck to you.

Students who have a poor command of English would be better accommodated by the local Chinese instructors here.
WRONG

The students which have a poor sence of english would be better accommodated by intructors which speak english.

Monopole, just as well they're not getting taught by you, then.

Can you at least count the mistakes in your short sentence? :ugh:

PlankBlender,

You fool. Needing to be the first to big note yourself. I can take a little mockery, but I would expect something along the lines of one of these :} :E or :ok: at the end.

:ugh: emoticon to me would have a differant meaning.

But as for you question, I can count only two
sence instead of sense &
intructors instead of instructor

So please PlankBlender, feel free to eductate an obviously uneducated fellow aviator, and correct or point out any further errors :}:}:}:E:E:ok:

Love to know where that was. A $29 529.50 net sounds great compared to what im getting as full time G3!!!

If you wanted to go and work with students who don't speak english you needn't to go to China. Ever been in to YSBK???:ugh:

there was a thread raging over in South Asia & The Far East which didn't exactly paint a pretty picture.

You happy up there? How long you been there? How long you plan to stay?
