As far as I know Indian DGCA have put a stop on hiring Expat FO. Due to the many Indian FO beeing trained and ready to start working in the Indian Aviation. Captain's on the other hand will still be erquired until India have enough experienced captains. DGCA have from January this year required all Foreign pilots(Expats) to be hired by an Indian airline to present and exitplan for the foreign pilots and a training scheme for Indian pilots.

Try seach on India Times and you will find more info about this.

Hi JRT,

Are you saying that the DGCA are reviewing the change in law they instigated last year with regards to mixed flight decks i.e. Indian National/Expat FOs?

Or..

Are you saying that they are making it harder for expat FOs to enter the indian market with an expectation that Indian airlines make a provision to source FOs locally? If they are making it harder for Expat FOs to enter the market - how? Also - how long do they expect the Indian market to deliver the number of locally trained FOs required??!

Please clarify :ok:
